Location: Boca Raton, Florida
Job Type: Full-Time


JARC is seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Director of Advancement to help grow philanthropic support, strengthen donor relationships, and advance our mission of empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Working closely with the Senior Director of Advancement and Chief Executive Officer, this individual will play a key role in fundraising, donor cultivation, grant writing, corporate sponsorships, planned giving initiatives, and special events.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and cultivate prospective donors throughout Palm Beach County and surrounding communities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing donors, corporate partners, foundations, and community stakeholders.
  • Assist in achieving annual fundraising goals through individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, and special events.
  • Research, prepare, and submit grant proposals in collaboration with program and agency leadership.
  • Monitor fundraising trends and funding opportunities to maximize philanthropic support.
  • Develop and coordinate fundraising initiatives targeting individuals and families age 50 and under.
  • Support planned giving efforts, including Leave a Legacy initiatives.
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
  • Coordinate donor stewardship efforts, including acknowledgment letters, gratitude calls, and donor recognition.
  • Represent JARC in the community and serve as an ambassador for the organization's mission and programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5-7 years of professional fundraising, development, campaign management, or nonprofit experience.
  • Proven success meeting fundraising goals and cultivating donor relationships.
  • Experience with grant writing and foundation fundraising.
  • Knowledge of annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, and donor stewardship strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding organizational, strategic planning, and project management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in using fundraising software and donor databases preferred.
