About This Role

The Assistant Director supports the Center Director in the daily operation and management of BAMS Enrichment Academy. This position helps ensure that the center provides a safe, nurturing, organized, and high-quality environment for children, families, and staff.

The ideal candidate is a dependable, organized, professional, and confident leader who enjoys working with children and supporting a team. The Assistant Director should be able to step in when needed, communicate effectively with families and staff, and help maintain consistent compliance with center policies and childcare regulations.


What You'll Do

Assistant Director — Duties & Responsibilities

  • ‍ Support and supervise teachers and classroom staff.
  • Ensure children are safe, supervised, and well cared for.
  • Assist with daily center operations.
  • Help manage staff schedules, breaks, attendance, and classroom coverage.
  • Conduct classroom checks throughout the day.
  • Make sure teachers are following lesson plans and classroom routines.
  • ‍‍‍ Assist with parent communication, questions, and concerns.
  • Respond to enrollment inquiries and help schedule tours.
  • Assist with enrollment paperwork and maintaining student records.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and staff records.
  • Handle minor incidents and ensure proper documentation is completed.
  • Monitor classroom cleanliness, health, and safety.
  • Assist with opening and closing the center.
  • Monitor staff-child interactions and classroom environments.
  • Help train and orient new employees.

  • Assist the Director with licensing documents, inspections, and compliance.
  • Help resolve staff conflicts and classroom concerns professionally.
