Job description

Overview/ Job Responsibilities
Entarian is looking for a Cloud Engineer to support the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Ordnance Information System (OIS) program based in Mechanicsburg, PA. Cloud DevSecOps Administrators / Engineers at Sev1Tech are solution-oriented, driven, and enjoy teaming with other best and brightest engineers on highly visible, technically challenging projects and offerings. We're looking for high-caliber, well-rounded professionals who are passionate about emerging technology, projects, and consulting, and have a strong background in Unix, Windows, Cloud, and DevSecOps administration and automation.
As Cloud Engineer, you will provide technical support for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex cloud applications to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and performing technical/non-technical assessments.
The Cloud Engineer plays a key role in the Cloud/DevSecOps team with primary focus on the assigned portfolio. You will work closely with the customer Product Owner on the program and assist in development of system engineering documentation for the portfolio applications, such as system requirements, capabilities, and interface control documents, using GitLab Ultimate, Azure DevOps and other Collaboration and Architecture Tools.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Cloud Engineer providing engineering expertise and guidance for the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of IT solutions that enhance overall system performance and availability.
  • Act as primary liaison between NAVSUP OIS customer and third-party cloud broker (NAVAIR) in operational maintenance of the NAVSUP OIS Cloud architecture and ecosystem, to include access, cost estimation, service requests, and new resource requests
  • Assists in development of agile methodology (SAFe, Scrum, Scrum of Scrums, Kanban, DevSecOps). This includes backlog structure and management, governance/change control, and other key processes that lead the execution at the portfolio level.
  • Conduct engineering system development tasks including system requirements analysis, system architecture and design, preliminary design, critical design, system integration, formal verification, and formal validation.
  • Perform Requirements Analysis Engineering and other system engineering practices.
  • Produce technical documentation in support of engineering solutions that include, but are not limited to, architectural drawings, detailed design specifications, and thorough implementation instructions
  • Assist with operational, technical tool standardization, maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, and system and services views for architectures using applicable Navy set security standards.

  • Develops, updates, and maintains program of record documentation.
  • Manages and monitors all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Pro-actively ensures the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Guide and assist team in writing and maintaining custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have DOD Top Secret level clearance to start; U.S. Citizen required only for Federal Clearance Requirement
  • Certification Requirement: Directive 8570.1/8140 - IAT II:
    • Baseline Certification: Security+
    • Computing Environment Certification: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect or similar equivalent Cloud environment certification (if not in hand, must be obtained within 3 months of on-boarding)
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience and 2+ years of prior relevant experience engineering and architecting enterprise IT solutions
  • Have a broad technical background spanning many of the technical areas supported by the program.
  • The ability to clearly articulate technical messages for a variety of audiences, both through written and verbal means, will be a critical skill necessary for the success in this position.
  • Understanding and experience programming and designing software using Terraform, Ansible, Java, J2EE, Oracle, WebLogic, Tomcat and AWS cloud services, etc.
  • Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies such as Jenkins, GitLab Ultimate, Jira, Nexus, Maven, OpenShift, SonarQube, Fortify, Junit, Karma, Selenium, Cyprus, Docker, Artifactory
  • Experience with systems engineering, including requirements analysis and system architecture design
  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
  • Ability to liaise with government, vendors, and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in network and cyber security design, engineering, and operations with emphasis on Navy capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience developing models using Sparx EA, Splunk, MuleSoft, SalesForce
  • Experience with NIST SP 800 series or ISO 27000 series documents for information security management and risk assessment
  • Experience with Angular, ReactJS, Spring MVC, JQuery, JSF, JSP, MyBatis, Hibernate, IBM MQ, Kafka, ELK, or PLSQL
  • Demonstrated experience with server virtualization technologies such as VMware, Citrix, or Hyper-V
  • Demonstrated experience with operating systems such as RedHat Linux and Windows Server
  • Demonstrated experience in ITIL, ISO20000 / ISO27001 implementations
  • At least one nationally recognized vendor certification
  • Navy experience
