Demand Planner Responsibilities: The Demand Planner position is responsible for the management and coordination of all forecasting activities which support the customer service and inventory objectives associated with Gexpro Services. This position will assist in all demand planning duties including estimating future product demand, analyzing inventory flow, and developing forecast models. The role is responsible for creating and reviewing projections as it relates to new and regular items. The ideal candidate will bring supply chain and/or procurement experience, astute attention to detail, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. To succeed in this role, candidates should be professional, highly analytical, and possess excellent communication skills. The successful candidate should also have an in-depth knowledge of advanced mathematical and forecasting policies.

Demand Planner Essential Responsibilities

  • Generate next 18 months demand plans basis quantitative analysis of historic data, consider seasonality, promotions & special pricing while demand forecasting. Leverage the AI/ML statistical solution combined with consensus demand planning solution. Ensure checks on data hygiene- data is free from typographical errors, omissions, customer inputs remarks are captured in relevant fields.
  • Collaborate with sourcing team, sales & service team to sustain and improvise the process & demand planning tool. Review statistical & customer forecast and adjust the STAT forecast as needed for consensus planning.
  • Publish 3 month forecasting cycle calendar in advance, ensure timely completion of each cycle.
  • Oversee and manage the demand planning cycle, own standard operating procedures, and control documents. Align calendar of all required stakeholders as per demand cycle. Monitor and govern process adherence (Calendar adherence, stakeholder participation etc.) to drive demand planning process efficiency. Manage iterations & calendarize the demand planning cycle in demand planning tool.
  • Responsible for master data cleanliness to enable demand planning against correct item codes.
  • Ensure timely inputs from customer, program manager & sourcing team in demand planning solution. Share status & slippages in participation with respect to pre-determined planning cycle dates.
  • Facilitate consensus sign off meetings and push finalized demand plan to ERP. Chair the consensus planning meeting with key stakeholders including Program Managers, the Forecast Management Team, customers & finalize the monthly forecast.
  • Analyze & publish sale forecast accuracy, fidelity, bias parameters. Monitor improvement in forecast accuracy with iterative cycles
  • Review the outlier items/ categories with higher deviation (more than the defined threshold) with Program Manager and Forecast Management Team

Demand Planner Skills, Knowledge, and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 3 Years of Experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain and Procurement
  • Advanced computer skills including Excel, VBA, Power Pivots, Power BI/Tableau and SmartSheet
  • Ability to manage time and resources autonomously. Balances competing demands to ensure work is completed. Monitors priorities and requests resources appropriately when confronted with changing demands.
  • Demonstrates a positive outlook, and remains calm and in control in stressful situations.
  • Ability to collaborate, influence and communicate with all departments and levels of the organization
  • UseS logic and analytics to identify solutions to solve problems. Asks effective questions to gather information and data to clarify the details of the problem. Analyzes data, understands patterns and translates into meaningful information. Explores options and utilizes available information to recommend workable solutions.
  • Experience utilizing data mining tools, such as QAD to generate queries and build reports.
