We're looking for a positive and passionate culinarian to create delicious, scratch-made dishes using the finest local and organic ingredients available. In our Co-op kitchen, every meal tells a story of the regional farms and producers who help us bring healthy, amazing food to our community. The purpose of this position is to prepare daily hot bar offerings and maintain an abundant, fully stocked Grab & Go deli case. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. Experience in a commercial kitchen is required. Serve Safe certification is a plus.

Requirements


  • Prepare foods for daily offerings according to the highest priority following specification of recipes
  • Keep the hot bar and grab & go case full throughout the shift by preparing items as needed
  • Assure proper signage is made and accurately reflects ingredients
  • Waste out specific out of date items and record in waste log
  • Research and develop new recipes to recommend to manager
  • Assist in cross-training co-workers to assure knowledge and support for department operations
  • Ensure accurate, up-to-date price, ingredient and date labeling of items
  • Ensure clean and well stocked hot bar and Grab & Go deli case

Department Maintenance

  • Ensure food prep, work area, utensils, equipment and display areas are maintained in sanitary, orderly condition meeting or exceeding health department standards
  • Follow USDA and NH State Law regarding the use, labeling and handling of allergens
  • Follow standard Sanitation Operating Procedures schedule including: deep cleaning schedules, good health department scores, pest awareness and control, equipment maintenance, hood and grease trap cleanings
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling procedures as per health department and organic standards
  • Participate in inventory counts as directed by management
  • Maintain department equipment in working order. Notify management of equipment problems or requirements.
