Job description

POSITION: Data Governance Analyst
REPORTS TO: Senior Project Manager
ACHE is a hybrid work environment, requiring 2 days per week in our Chicago office and as such, only Chicago area based candidates will be considered.
PURPOSE
The purpose of this job is to serve our members, customers, and co-workers.
SUMMARY
This position will collaborate extensively across the organization with internal business teams to ensure consistency in data integrity and data usage. This role requires direct experience in data modeling, data architecture, and implementing enterprise data management solutions. The analyst will work with stakeholders to define and standardize enterprise metrics and terminology, streamline, and automate data governance practices, research and design technical documentation, and operationalize robust data management processes leveraging advanced methodologies and tools.
ACHE is a hybrid work environment, requiring two days per week in our Chicago office.
JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Data Governance and Policy Support 60% of Time
    1. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
    2. Help define and enforce data ownership and stewardship roles.
    3. Monitor and assess data quality metrics including completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
    4. Investigate data quality issues and coordinate remediation efforts with data owners and system administrators.
    5. Develop data quality reports and dashboards to track trends and improvements.
  2. Reporting amp; Documentation 20% of Time
    1. Prepare governance reports, scorecards, and presentations for leadership.
    2. Document data governance processes, workflows, and resolution activities.
    3. Maintain records of data governance decisions and change requests.
  3. Stakeholder Collaboration 10% of time
    1. Collaborate across the organizational business units and data stewards to identify governance needs and priorities.
    2. Promote awareness of data governance initiatives across the organization.
  4. Compliance amp; Risk Management 5% of time
    1. Assist with audits related to data governance, data quality, and data management.
  5. Other Duties as Assigned 5% of time
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in information systems, computer science, business analytics, data management, or a related field required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, business analysis, or data management.
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks, data stewardship, metadata management, and data quality principles.
  • Experience working with data governance or data quality tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Excel, and reporting/visualization tools (Tableau).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Must be adept at documenting requirements, tracking changes, and providing timely updates.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with data governance platforms such as Informatica or similar tools
  • Knowledge of database concepts, data warehousing, and master data management (MDM).
  • Certification in data management or data governance (e.g., CDMP, DCAM) is a plus.
  • Experience in project management or process improvement methodologies.
  • Must possess sound judgment, discretion, and a high degree of professionalism.

COMPENSATION
This is an exempt/salaried role, paid on a bi-weekly basis. We anticipate filling this position in a salary range of $85,000 - $115,000 annually.
This salary range represents ACHEโ€™s good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting. The compensation offered will take the following into consideration: education, relevant experience, certifications, organizational budget, and market estimates for the role.
