Job description

About the job Construction Superintendent
Our client is growing and adding an experienced Construction Superintendent to their Raleigh team.
This is a full-time, permanent position with an established industry leader, not a contract or project-based role. The first assignment will be a high-profile, large- scale commercial project in the Raleigh market, where our client is serving as the GC of record. After completion, this Superintendent will continue supporting additional large-scale projects with the company.
This is a boots-on-the-ground field leadership role for someone who knows how to keep a complex jobsite moving. The right candidate will have strong commercial construction experience, the ability to coordinate multiple trades, and the field presence needed to keep the site safe, organized, and on schedule.
What You'll Do
As the Construction Superintendent, you will oversee daily jobsite operations and coordinate field activity from start to finish.
Responsibilities include:

  • Manage daily field operations on a large commercial construction project
  • Coordinate multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, civil, and related scopes
  • Oversee jobsite safety, quality, schedule, and field execution
  • Manage subcontractors, field crews, and onsite activity
  • Review plans, drawings, and project documents
  • Use Bluebeam and construction management software for documentation and coordination
  • Maintain daily reports, safety documentation, photos, inspections, and project records
  • Create and manage short-term look-ahead schedules
  • Identify field issues, delays, scope concerns, and potential change items
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, ownership team, inspectors, and internal leadership
  • Support inspections, punch list completion, and project closeout
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is an experienced field Superintendent with a background in large commercial construction, renovation, institutional, campus, or complex multi-trade projects. Required qualifications:
  • Experience as a Construction Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership role
  • Experience managing large-scale commercial construction projects
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple trades on complex jobsites
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety, schedule, quality, and field execution
  • Ability to read plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam
  • Comfortable using construction management software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • CPR certification or ability to obtain, if allowed by client
  • Ability to work onsite in the Raleigh, NC market
  • Experience as a Construction Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or similar field leadership role
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience on university, campus, institutional, healthcare, public-sector, or occupied-site projects
  • Experience with large, complex commercial projects
  • Renovation, selective demolition, or construction/demo coordination experience
  • Local Raleigh market knowledge
  • Experience working in active campus or occupied-building environments
What Makes Someone Successful Here This role is best suited for someone who enjoys being in the field and wants to stay in a Superintendent role long term. The right person is:
  • Field-first
  • Organized
  • Safety-driven
  • Strong with trade coordination
  • Comfortable leading multiple subcontractors and field teams
  • Confident with documentation and technology
  • Calm under pressure
  • Comfortable being the main onsite field leader
Compensation and Benefits Our client offers a competitive compensation package based on experience, along with:
  • Full benefits package
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • 401(k) with company match
