Job description

American Farm Bureau Insurance Services, Inc. (AFBIS, Inc.), provider of support and crop insurance services to Farm Bureau insurance companies, is looking for a Crop Insurance Compliance Specialist. This is a hybrid role working out of the Fargo office at least two days a week and one additional day within a two-week period. We will also consider experienced remote talent for this position. There will be up to 35% travel.

As a Crop Insurance Compliance Specialist, you will collaborate with AFBIS teams, auditors, policy issuers, RMA, and NCIS. You will help develop and execute compliance assurance and quality control programs to maximize adherence to FCIC and regulatory requirements. If you have crop insurance compliance experience along with knowledge of regulatory compliance for Crop Insurance Products, this might be a great fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing/writing, implementing and maintaining compliance/quality control procedures for AFBIS and our affiliates
  • Assist with monitoring, tracking, and preparing responses to RMA compliance reviews, the RMA AIP Review, the National Financial Operations Review (NFOR), and System and Organization Controls (SOC) Reviews
  • Assist other departments with developing compliance/quality control training for agents, adjusters, and employees
  • Assist with the completion of the Standard Reinsurance Agreement (SRA) and Livestock Price Reinsurance Agreement (LPRA)
  • Maintain current crop insurance industry regulatory requirements and make recommendations to ensure alignment and adherence
  • Monitors resources for state regulatory bulletins or notices and distributes the information to pertinent individuals
  • Periodically evaluates and assesses AFBIS programs to ensure state regulatory compliance and identify and partner with the relevant departments to help resolve compliance issues

What you will bring to this position:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in crop insurance administration, underwriting, claims or compliance
  • Experience in Risk Management; developing, implementing and/or maintaining quality control procedures, compliance frameworks and programs
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance for Crop Insurance Products
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities often under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work successfully in a team environment

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $85,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
