Job description

ROLE: Granger Kids Creative Content Coordinator

STAFF LEVEL: Associate Staff, Full Time, Salary, Exempt

REPORTS TO: Granger Kids Director

At Granger Community Church (GCC) we are committed to building a world-class staff of team members devoted to the high calling of ministry. We all acknowledge that this is not "just a job." Team members use their God-given S.H.A.P.E. to advance the cause of Jesus and represent both Him and GCC wherever they are. We have the great privilege and responsibility of following Jesus here at GCC. Team members regularly attend weekend services, regularly participate in church events and discipleship opportunities and tithe here at GCC. Each team member is a person of integrity and makes decisions based on biblically formed core values and the GCC Staff Statement of Ethics. Each team member is loyal to Lead Pastor Ted Bryant, other staff and lay leaders while living as a passionate advocate of GCC's mission, vision and values.

SUMMARY

The Granger Kids Creative Content Coordinator helps kids take their next step toward Christ by bringing fresh, Spirit-led creativity to the content and experiences of Granger Kids. This role exists to ask the questions the team might not be asking, identify unmet needs in how kids engage with faith, and generate original ideas that translate into meaningful, age-appropriate environments and resources. The Creative Content Coordinator serves as a generative resource for the whole team - fueling the pipeline of new concepts that others can then activate, refine, and execute.

ATTRIBUTES

Curious

Naturally wonders why things are the way they and imagines how they could be better.

Original

Generates fresh ideas and concepts, not just iterations of what already exists.

Collaborative

Holds ideas loosely and loves seeing others take them somewhere great.

Learner

Stays current with culture, childhood development, and trends in ministry.

Communicator

Can articulate a creative vision in a way that inspires other to see it too.

Spiritually rooted

Anchors creativity in Scripture and the mission of GCC.

Technically equipped

Comfortable using creative software and tools - such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Cricut DesignSpace, and basic video editing

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Curriculum & Content

Serves as the creative interpreter of purchased curriculum, going beyond what's on the page to unlock its fullest potential. Adapts and elevates existing material to ensure every group experience is both spiritually rich and genuinely exciting, so kids leave not just having learned something, but having lived it.

Environments

Identifies opportunities to create new or reimagined physical and experiential environments across Granger Kids spaces. Asks what kids' current experiences feel like and dreams up what they could feel like.

Trend Awareness

Actively observes what kids are watching, playing, reading, and caring about. Brings this awareness into content ideation to ensure Granger Kids stay culturally engaged without being culturally driven.

Needs Identification

Works alongside the Development Coordinator and Director to regularly surface unmet needs in kids, families, and leaders and generates ideas in response to those needs before they become problems.

Ideation Support

Acts as a creative resource for other team members, generating options and alternatives when the team gets stuck, and bringing a fresh perspective to projects already in motion.

Everything Else

Ministry is dynamic and as needs arise, so does the opportunity to step in. Every member of the Granger Kids team is expected to remain flexible and ready to assist wherever needed across GCC, working together to help the ministry thrive.

SUCCESS/WINS

Success in this role looks like:

The team consistently has more ideas than it has the capacity to execute.

Kids experience content and environments that feel fresh, relevant, and spiritually rich.

The Director and Experience Coordinator feel resourced with creative options rather than having to generate everything themselves.

Unmet needs in the ministry are identified and addressed proactively rather than reactively.

The Creative Content Coordinator is energized by their work and operating consistently within their S.H.A.P.E.
