Position Summary: The Sr. Accountant will support the Finance function by developing and enhancing timely, accurate, and actionable reporting and analysis, while ensuring compliance with GAAP. This role will entail more technical aspects of the Accounting and Controlling functions of the company. The Sr. Accountant position requires previous accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or manufacturing environment, as well as strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills. The Sr. Accountant will work independently and in a team environment, collaborating with Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of internal control policy and procedure documentation, as well as process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain an accurate vendor master database in Oracle EBS, including adding new vendors and confirming bank payment instructions. Subjected to individual delegation of duties with necessary cross-training as applicable.
  • Assist the Controller and Assistant Controller in development of monthly results and account analysis.
  • Assist in monthly financial statement close process.
  • Utilize financial reporting applications, as necessary, including Oracle EBS and related tools for financial reporting (GLWand, Hyperion).
  • Enter and update records in Sage database for assets placed in service and depreciation projections. Subjected to individual delegation of duties with necessary cross-training as applicable.
  • Assist in data gathering, analysis, and respond to audit requests and inquiries.
  • Responsibilities in sales tax reporting compliance working in conjunction with the Manager, Tax.
  • Engage in and actively volunteer for continuous improvement projects and tasks.
  • Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
  • Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education/Experience & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required, Master's preferred, and 3-5 years practical experience in either an operating/product-driven company, public accounting company, or mix required. CPA preferred but not required.
  • Provide support to other team members within the Finance function as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and personal integrity. Ability to effectively interact directly with senior management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, especially Excel. Operation in an ERP environment required, with specific experience with Oracle EBS strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form. Must be able to communicate complex financial information to executives and other team members.
  • Results driven personality but with ability to work with others diplomatically across all levels of the organization.
  • Good time management skills to complete assigned accounting tasks accurately and on schedule, while supporting the team's daily operations.
  • Someone who defines success based on problems solved and improvements made.
  • Hands-on with willingness to dig into detail to understand root causes and solve problems.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form. Must be professional and courteous in internal and external communications.

Working Conditions:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
