Job description

As the Senior Engineering and Security Solutions (ESS) Business Unit Accountant, your work includes, but is not limited to, working closely with the Assistant Controller to assist and support the monthly, quarterly, and yearend closing processes, reconcile all corporate level tax activity by state, county, and cities and be responsible for the accurate, timely update for all tax registry and company set up per state as needed. You will manage the Corporate Registry Inbox and partner as assigned across other departments to timely disseminate critical and time-sensitive documents. This position requires you to work independently. This role also includes active participation in ongoing audits, self-audits, and financial analytics and reporting.

This position can be located to work at our Marana, AZ office or our St. Ignatius, MT office locations.

A sample of duties will include but is not limited to:

  • Assist with month-end, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes within the accounting system preparing reports such as balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and other documents.
  • Review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • Collect data and compile needed accounting reports and assist the Controller with accounting record management and retention in compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist with month-end, quarterly, and annual financial analysis and planning processes within the ESS BU.
  • Manage construction project financial performance data and provide support to ESS BU operations staff.
  • Produce/assist in producing WIP schedules, project and company-specific budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist with creation of proposals for new projects using historical data and information provided by operations staff.
  • Assist with the preparation of audited financial statements, working with our public accounting auditors.
  • Administer internal controls and audits of procedures intended to preserve the organization’s assets.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in A/P, A/R, , GL Reconciliation, Financial Reporting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in evaluation of financial information to support operational decision-making.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying GAAP and applicable regulations.

License, Cert or Registration

  • CPA Preferred
