Advantage Dealer Group, an exciting automotive dealer group located in the Chicagoland area, is searching for an experienced controller assistant. We need a highly organized individual with a high accounting acumen and experience managing and developing a staff of 10 + individuals. Automotive accounting experience is critical. Our office is centralized and based out of Hodgkins, IL.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of automotive accounting management experience.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft office, including extensive experience with Excel
  • Ability to manage accounting functions across multiple franchises
  • Knowledge license and titles
  • Knowledge of billing process
  • High level of accuracy and analytical ability
  • Ideal candidate must be highly organized
  • Must possess excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
  • Accounting degree preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the staff’s productivity and engagement
  • Process oriented with ability to drive productivity through development of efficient processes
  • Day to day management of the office
  • Must be engaged on a daily basis with all accounting functions
  • Responsible for training and developing staff
  • Assisting with dealership financial statements in accordance with established timelines
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Work with office staff to ensure a timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Reconcile all accounts prior to month end
  • Complete end-of-month accounting reports as assigned
  • Prepare and review auditing paperwork to ensure compliance
  • Conduct analytical review of monthly financial statements highlighting deviations from budget, unusual increases/decreases in revenue and expenses and providing explanations for each
