Job description

Staff Accountant

We currently have an exciting full-time opportunity for an experienced Staff Accountant in Hauppauge, NY. We are recruiting for a highly driven, experienced Staff Accountant to become a part of our growing team. This individual should have 5+ years of Staff Accounting experience. This position will report to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare account reconciliations and roll-forwards for accounts including but not limited to inventory, prepaid assets, accrued expense, fixed asset, etc.
  • Assist Controller in managing financial accounting and reporting activities for all international subsidiaries for the company.
  • Prepare financial data and international company ledgers for purposes of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and ensure a timely month-end/year end close.
  • Prepare inventory aging, analyze status of returned merchandise and work with the operations team to resolve any variances.
  • Assist in the performance of monthly cycle counts.
  • Prepare financial statement for internal and external reporting.
  • Be willing to take on additional responsibilities as business continues to grow and engage in cross-training on department functions.

Skills:

  • Ability to handle multiple projects, work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and strive well in a fast-paced work environment.
  • High level of accounting training, such as Bachelor’s or higher degrees in accounting or finance.
  • 5+ years accounting or finance experience.
  • Excel is a must however Advanced Excel (ex: pivot table, v-lookup) and working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Well-grounded knowledge and comprehensive understanding of financial accounting.
  • Strong ability to communicate in writing and speaking, as well as good organizational skills.
  • Good at working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Detailed oriented with excellent ability to analyze data and circumstances.
