What is the Role:

The Corporate Controller will be responsible for all DCG company wide enterprise accounting, internal controls, tax, and reporting. The Controller will be a process-driven highly experienced accountant able to ensure accurate and timely reporting for all financial matters, and excited to be a part of a dynamic work environment supporting our day-to-day growth and global expansion.

We are looking for a self-starting accountant who has sufficient experience and judgment to help design and improve our overall accounting and reporting function. As a gating item this candidate can be relied upon to think creatively and exercise sound commercial judgment in addition to operating within the structures of accounting and tax. The Controller must also demonstrate a high degree of comfort with the combination of a casual environment moving at a brisk speed.

This candidate will support the CFO and DCG executive leadership team in all aspects of financial and key metric reporting for the complex consolidated group of companies affiliated Digital Currency Group. This role will provide the right candidate with the ability to impact a highly dynamic organization at the forefront of its industry.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • External Financial reporting: Engage with auditors, and project manage the audit engagement for the consolidated financials as well as overall engagement with external accounting firms supporting the audit process.
  • Draft and review the consolidated financial statements which include comparative and segment financial reporting for the consolidated group.
  • Tax: Oversee companywide global tax compliance and tax strategy with the support of the Tax Director.
  • Internal financial reporting: produce periodic management financial and key metric reports to ensure timely and accurate financial information is available to decisionmakers. Field queries re same and contribute to our ongoing assessment of the financial health and direction of the company and its affiliates.
  • Accounting policy: Ensure adherence to GAAP and IFRS for respective reporting entities, as well as research and document accounting policies on complex emerging matters.
  • Accounting system: Ensure that the General Ledger and accounting systems (including the chart of accounts and all dimensions) are designed and maintained to capture and report the appropriate financial data for all entities to ensure timely and consistent with both GAAP and IFRS.
  • Global Consolidations and Intercompany activity: ensure that all intercompany activity and positions are documented and accurately tracked and eliminated for financial reporting purposes. Also confirm that global consolidated and translated financial information is available and accurate.
  • Assist with accounting due diligence process for M&A Activity and integration of acquired entities into the consolidated group.
  • Engage with and support subsidiary financial reporting personnel to ensure collaboration and uniform accounting policies are in effect, that technology systems relied on for financial reporting are appropriate, and leverage new technology to streamline internal processes.
  • Support the CFO and Finance Team leaders for all internal control related initiatives to ensure auditors can rely on controls-based audit engagements.
  • Support the CFO and Finance Team in complex roll up of a bottoms up financial company-wide budget process on continual basis.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA required
  • Minimum 15 years accounting experience required with a minimum three years of public accounting
  • Significant experience in the financial services sector required
