Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Assistant Controller you will interact with Physician Services financial management and HCA North Carolina Division leadership regarding financial and operational activities as needed. You will provide assistance with financial and operational activities including financial projections and reporting, practice evaluations, economic strategies, budgeting, policy support and development. 


What you will do in this role: 


  • You will assist the Assist CFO with completion of financial reports to meet specified deadlines.  
  • Assist the Controller with development of standard financial data sets. 
  • You will prepare various reports that summarize and forecast business activity and financial position.  
  • Conduct physician contract reviews to validate all payments.  
  • You will provide management (to include Physician Services leadership, Division leadership, and Hospital CFO's) with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.  
  • Assist with review monthly reports for key indicators and statistics.  
  • Assist as needed with monthly reports or returns required by regulatory agencies.  

What qualifications you will need: 


  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in accounting or other business-related field. 
  • CPA license highly preferred.  
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/financial experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience.  
  • Preferably, 3+ years in a physician practice management or healthcare-related environment.
