ABOUT RUBY'S DINER

On December 7th, 1982, the doors to the very first Ruby's Diner opened at the end of the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, CA. What once was an old bait shop had been transformed into a sparkling diner with authentic antique decor, jiving tunes from a past time, and friendly service -- Ruby's Diner was seemingly straight from the 1940's. The tiny 45-seat restaurant, which was named after its founder's mother, Ruby, opened with just three employees and a simple menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, and malts. In its first day, it brought in a whopping $63, but most importantly, smiling guests looking to remember a simpler, happier time.

Now, over 35 years later, over 30 Ruby's Diner restaurants can be found in all different parts of the country such as California, Nevada, Texas, and Pennsylvania, including mall, casino, and airport locations. We're proud to continue our legacy of providing guests with quality service, delicious diner cuisine, and what we like to call Ruby Magic. SUMMARY

Ruby's Diner is currently seeking a Full-Time Assistant Manager. The assistant manager will supervise, provide direction, and assist staff in all areas of the business. Key areas of focus are customer service, sales, marketing, product quality, service, safety, and cleanliness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with the General Manager executing restaurant's business plan.
  • Manages restaurant operation during scheduled shifts.
  • Assigns tasks and creates work schedules to ensure adequate shift coverage.
  • Monitors inventory levels, orders supplies, and manages deliveries.
  • Ensures store meets health, food safety, and safety regulations.
  • Exercises good judgment in decision-making and reporting issues to the GM.
  • Resolves customer complaints.
  • Coordinates training sessions ensuring staff meet compliance and job performance measures.
  • Maintains critical product and service quality standards. restaurant cleanliness and sanitation, timely service.
  • Markets the restaurant.
  • Builds sales and manages the restaurant budget.
  • Assists in optimizing profits by controlling product and labor costs.
  • Ensures restaurant is in accordance with established company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Identifies talent, interviews, and hires new Team Members.
  • Helps in any area of the restaurant when circumstances dictate.
  • Ensures key practices are followed during each shift.
  • Ensures team members follow health and safety guidelines daily.

EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Two or more years of restaurant experience (fast food/QSR management experience preferred.)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to occasionally work long hours.
