Job description

Position Summary:

The Construction Assistant in this position will aid the Deputy Administrator and Project Managers in the refurbishing, remodeling, and routine maintenance of all facilities owned and/or operated by WestCare and all related entities. This position may also assist in executing various administrative/clerical functions. Essential Job Functions include:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides assistance to Project Managers in new construction, refurbishing, remodeling, and the regular maintenance of all facilities owned and/or operated by WestCare and all related entities;
  • Provide general labor assistance in FitzHouse projects;
  • Provides clerical support to the Administrative Services Manager and other administrative staff as requested;
  • Embraces and embodies the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation;
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Certifications/Licensures:

  • Not applicable for this position;
  • Valid drivers license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCares vehicle insurance is required.

Education:

  • High school Diplomas or GED equivalent required;

Experience and Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of remodeling and construction techniques and tools required;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team required;
  • Experience in facility operation and maintenance required;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion required;
  • Ability to be aware of and adhere to specific timeframes and time limitations required;
  • Ability to utilize office equipment and programs, such as printers, scanners, phones, Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, etc. required;
  • Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality required;

Working Conditions:

  • Possible exposure to fumes, dust, wet/damp surfaces and extreme hot and cold conditions;
  • Possible need to climb ladders, work on uneven terrain, and inspect and work in confined spaces;
  • Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals;
  • Occasional to regular travel - local, regional and out-of-state including overnight stays;
  • A minimum of 40 hours per week is expected but significantly more hours will be required from time to time. Completion of job duties may require working before and after normal working hours. Regular attendance is required. Being able to work as many hours as is necessary to complete job tasks is a required and essential duty of this position.
