Job description

Senior Commodities Business Analyst – Commodities - New York - up to $200k + bonus & benefits

We have exclusively partnered with a global energy and commodities firm operating in New York. The business is continuing to invest heavily in its trading and risk technology landscape, with a strong focus on scaling its commodities business. They are now looking for someone to join their global technology team, supporting the ongoing build-out of their CTRM platform.

Role Overview

This is a key delivery role sitting within the CTRM technology function, working closely with trading, operations, middle office, and engineering teams. You’ll play a central role in shaping and delivering end-to-end physical metals capabilities across a modern platform environment, ensuring business requirements are clearly defined, technically feasible, and delivered in a controlled and scalable way.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Partner with trading, operations, middle office, and technology teams to define and refine requirements
  2. Translate complex business needs into clear functional specifications for delivery teams
  3. Support enhancement of CTRM platform capabilities for physical metals workflows
  4. Analyse and improve front-to-back processes across the metals lifecycle
  5. Cover trade capture, logistics, inventory, settlements, pricing, and reporting
  6. Contribute to testing, implementation, and post-go-live optimisation
  7. Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and improvement opportunities
  8. Act as a key bridge between business users and technology teams
  9. Help drive a more scalable and standardised operating model for metals

Experience Required

  1. Proven Business Analyst or similar experience within commodities trading
  2. Strong physical commodities knowledge
  3. Good understanding of end-to-end commodity trading workflows
  4. Experience with logistics, inventory, settlements, pricing, and controls in physical markets
  5. CTRM platform experience is ideal
  6. Strong stakeholder management
  7. Ability to translate complex requirements
  8. Experience working in fast-paced, delivery-focused technology environments
  9. Strong communication and analytical skills
