Job description

Superior Mechanical Services, Inc. provides mechanical and Plumbing services throughout the Mayland, Virginia and DC Metropolitan area. We take pride in every project we take on and strive to communicate and accomplish the goals each one of our clients sets out to achieve. These services include new construction, renovation and maintenance of HVAC and Plumbing systems for plan-spec, design-build and design-assist commercial and high-rise residential buildings.


Key Responsibilities
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret architectural and engineering blueprints to lay out, position, and install pipe networks.
  • System Installation: Measure, cut, thread, and assemble various piping materials (e.g., PVC, copper, and cast iron) for water, sewer, and gas lines.
  • Fixture Setup: Install and connect end-use plumbing fixtures and appliances, such as sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters.
  • System Testing: Perform pressure and leak tests on all installed piping and drainage systems to ensure integrity.
  • Compliance: Ensure all installations adhere strictly to local building and plumbing codes.
  • Coordination: Communicate effectively with general contractors, electricians, and HVAC technicians to resolve spatial and scheduling conflicts on the job site

Qualifications & Requirements

Journeyman License Required

  • Education & Licensing: High school diploma or equivalent, completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship, and a valid state-issued Journeyman or Master Plumber license.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding labor, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and operating in various weather conditions.

  • Technical Skills: Strong mathematical skills for measuring pipe lengths and drops, and mechanical aptitude for operating specialized plumbing tools.
