 Right now, we are looking for a Mortgage Lending Assistant who will work in Middlebury, Indiana.


Here is some information about this position:
SUMMARY: The Mortgage Loan Assistant works with the Bank's Mortgage Loan Originators and performs a variety of administrative duties. The Loan Assistant greets and directs customers on the phone and in person. They are responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of loan documentation as well as follow up with various due diligence for residential applications and submission to the Mortgage Loan Operations area.
Primary Functions of this position:


  1. Greet customers and provide customer service by answering questions regarding existing loans, the loan process in general and directing them to the loan officer to best meet their needs.
  2. Answer loan department phones promptly and courteously. Listen to customer needs and answer questions or transfer to the call to the appropriate person or department for assistance.
  3. Contact customers to schedule appointments/closings with loan officers or to request necessary documents to facilitate the application.
  4. Obtain and order various file due diligence items as directed by the mortgage loan originator including credit report, appraisals,   flood determinations, and title commitments.
  5. Assist the loan officer by coordinating documentation requests through the Mortgage Processing and Underwriting Department and processing post-closing paperwork making sure that signed documents are returned tot he Mortgage Processor/Closer.
  6. Monitor the pipeline report of the applications taken by the mortgage loan originators to ensure files are processed for customers as quickly as possible.
  7. Assist with marketing efforts for mortgage loan originators to further develop business.
  8. Performs a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth and efficient daily operation of the department.


 And here are some responsibilities that are also expected:


Work as an intermediary between the mortgage loan originators and the mortgage operations department to obtain approval and documentation of loan requests. Complete all required training. May be a Notary Public if requested. Performs additional duties as assigned.
