Job description

Curtis Media Group has an immediate opening for an experienced Director of Engineering, for a group of highly rated radio stations that span the state of North Carolina.

Job Duties:

  • Management and oversight of a four-person engineering team, as well as contract engineering
  • Solving day-to-day issues for our talented programming staff working in state-of-the-art radio studios
  • Working closely with the CEO and COO, to identify engineering problems and solutions and implement new technology as appropriate
  • Ensuring our radio stations operate in compliance with FCC rules and regulations, along with applicable state and local regulations.
  • Management and budgeting of capital equipment repair and replacement

Qualifications:

  • At least five years of experience in broadcasting engineering, preferably supervising an engineering department
  • Associates degree in electronics or other technical field, OR commensurate experience in broadcast engineering positions
  • Baseline IT skills including experience with networks, Microsoft operating systems, and PC hardware; familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and security hardware/software.
  • Basic familiarity with HVAC systems and principles
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to work sites as required.
  • Ability to lift reasonable weights, work on ladders and in enclosed spaces.
  • Experience with WideOrbit automation, MediaTouch automation, BE AudioVault automation, and Wheatnet IP audio systems will be a plus.
  • SBE certification will be a plus.

After-hours on-call availability is expected; some weekend or holiday work may be required.
