Salary: $40,000

Job Summary:

The Providence Cristo Rey High School is seeking a dependable, tech-savvy Instructional Assistant to support students in a digital learning environment. This individual will supervise and support students as they progress through online, self-paced coursework using the CourseWare learning management system. The ideal candidate is punctual, proactive, and skilled at maintaining a productive and respectful classroom environment.

Job Responsibilities:


Instructional Support


Monitor student progress through CourseWare, an online self-paced curriculum platform, ensuring students remain on track with assignments and course milestones


Provide basic technical assistance to students navigating the CourseWare platform


Communicate student progress concerns and completion to the academic counselor


Encourage student accountability and independent learning habits

Classroom & Behavior Management


Maintain a focused, orderly, and respectful learning environment at all times


Implement school-wide behavior expectations and de-escalate minor behavioral issues in a calm, consistent manner


Refer significant behavioral concerns to administration per school protocol

Attendance & Data Entry


Take accurate daily attendance using PowerSchool student information system


Ensure attendance records are entered promptly and consistently each class period


Report chronic absenteeism or tardy patterns to the appropriate staff

Professionalism & Punctuality


Arrive to work and all assigned duties on time, every day


Model professional conduct, reliability, and a positive work ethic for students


Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as required

Non-Catholic teachers are expected to participate to the fullest extent possible (e.g., non-Catholics would come forward to receive a blessing instead of Holy Communion in the Catholic Mass).

Additional Professional Responsibilities

3. Assists as requested with school fundraisers and development efforts.

4. Prepares for, attends, and participates in Registration, Open House, annual fundraiser, graduation, etc. as directed by the school principal.

5. Prepares, attends, and participates in specific events/programs/initiatives, etc.

Additional Education/Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED (Associates or Bachelors degree preferred)
  • Comfort with technology and the ability to learn new platforms quickly; prior experience with CourseWare, PowerSchool, or similar LMS/SIS systems a plus
  • Safe Parish Child Protection Training (provided by PCR)
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Ongoing professional development and faith formation
  • This position is fully in person and does not allow for remote work
