Job description

Department: Carpet Division

Reports To: Restoration Division Manager/Operations Manager

Position Summary - The primary purpose of this position is to provide carpet and upholstery cleaning on location for residential and commercial customers and support other divisions such as water as needed.


Job Description

  • Service on-location (both residential/commercial) cleaning appointments.

a. Carpet

b. Upholstery

c. Area Rugs

d. Tile & Grout

  • Respond to Customer Concerns (i.e. "RE-DO's")
  • Perform In-Plant Cleaning when necessary (Rugs and Upholster).
  • Master Purpose and Use of all equipment and materials.
  • Maintain working condition of all equipment and materials.
  • Take daily inventory on truck.
  • Replenish truck needs from warehouse.
  • Take weekly inventory at warehouse.
  • Clean Interior and Exterior of vehicle on an as needed basis (maintain a clean vehicle as much as possible)
  • Have vehicles serviced according to schedule.
  • Collect Payment from customers
  • Turn in report of Daily numbers.
  • Up sell protection products, upholstery cleaning and air duct cleaning. (see standards listed below)
  • Perform emergency service work (Water Restoration Division) as needed. Required to be apart of the On-Call Schedule at least once a month.
  • Assist in new technician training.
  • Adhere to All State Wage & Hour Laws (i.e. Required 20 minute Lunch Break during 7.5 hr. Working Day)
  • Perform miscellaneous duties assigned by Division Management.


Essential Functions:

Must have valid Illinois Driver's license.

Clean driving record with no more than 2 tickets per year and No DUI's

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Must be able to twist, stand, climb, push, pull and tolerate heights.

Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.

Must be able to stand for extended lengths of time and tolerate sometimes extreme temperature differences.

Must be able to pass a DOT physical and where a respirator with no restrictions.

Must be able to tolerate cleaning chemicals.
