Job description

Louis Ptak Construction has a perfect opportunity for you.

Louis Ptak Construction has been building exceptional projects throughout California since 1998, serving as both a General Contractor and a carpentry subcontractor. Our portfolio includes some of California's most high-end and bespoke residences. Our commitment to excellence and collaborative work environment makes us a sought-after employer in the construction sector.

We are looking for an experienced Site Superintendent to join our General Contracting team and help lead high-end custom residential projects with typical remodeling budgets of $10 to $25 million. These projects require deep technical construction knowledge, strong field leadership, and the ability to coordinate complex site conditions, detailed architectural plans, high-end finishes, and large subcontractor teams.

This is a great opportunity for a builder at heart. You may have started in the field as a carpenter or trade professional, and now you bring the experience, judgment, and leadership needed to turn a client's vision into an exceptional finished home. On our larger projects, you may work as part of a two-Superintendent site leadership team, partnering closely with another Superintendent, the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Project Administrator, and trade partners to keep the project moving safely and efficiently to the highest standard of quality.

What you get to own:

  • Coordinate and direct day-to-day site activities for large, complex custom residential projects.
  • Lead site logistics, sequencing, safety, quality control, and subcontractor coordination on projects with multiple scopes happening at the same time.
  • Using architectural plans, lay out the entire house from axis lines/gridlines by directing concrete, structural steel, and carpenters on where to place the structure.
  • Review and markup shop drawings for structural and finish trades.
  • Build, maintain, and communicate the project schedule, including the critical path, look-ahead schedules, manpower needs, deliveries, and site constraints.
  • Support client, architect, designer, engineer, inspector, and subcontractor communication in the field.
  • Collaborate with PM, APM, PA, and subcontractors to foresee and solve problems.

What we're looking for:

  • 20+ years of construction experience in high-end custom residential construction.
  • 10+ years of experience as a carpenter or other trade experience.
  • 5+ years' experience as a Superintendent
  • Experience building large custom residential projects, ideally with project budgets in the $10 million to $25 million range.
  • Currently has or has had a GC license and has run your own GC company, and wants to go back to working for someone else.
  • Strong ability to read architectural, structural, civil, and MEP plans and translate them into field execution.
  • Current experience using MS Project, Primavera, Procore, or similar construction management software tools is required.
  • Keen understanding of best practices for construction and building codes.

Benefits:

  • 401(k) with 4% match
  • Dental, vision, and health insurance
  • Paid Holidays
  • Employee assistance program
  • Referral program

Join us at Louis Ptak Construction and be part of a team dedicated to building exceptional projects and fostering a collaborative work environment
