Job Summary:Cannabis Production & Post-Harvest TechnicianDepartment: Production Reports To: Production Manager FLSA Status: Non-ExemptPosition SummaryThe Cannabis Production & Post-Harvest Technician is responsible for supporting daily cannabis production operations including harvesting, trimming, drying, curing, packaging preparation, and inventory handling. This role ensures all cannabis products are processed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and state regulatory requirements. Technicians maintain quality standards while following sanitation, security, and safety protocols.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHarvest & Post-Harvest ProcessingAssist with harvesting cannabis plants according to established procedures.Perform trimming, bucking, and manicuring of cannabis flower to meet quality standards.Hang plants and assist with drying room preparation and monitoring.Transfer product through curing processes while maintaining environmental standards.Sort and grade finished cannabis flower.Production SupportWeigh, label, and stage cannabis products for packaging or further processing.Accurately record weights, batch numbers, and other required information in inventory systems.Assist with product preparation for extraction or packaging departments as needed.Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cannabis handling and processing.Compliance & DocumentationMaintain strict adherence to all state cannabis regulations and company compliance policies.Ensure all cannabis materials are tracked accurately within the inventory tracking system.Maintain clear documentation of production and post-harvest activities.Follow chain-of-custody procedures when transferring cannabis materials.Quality AssuranceInspect cannabis products for quality, mold, pests, or contamination.Maintain product integrity and prevent cross-contamination.Report quality concerns or irregularities to supervisors.Sanitation & SafetyMaintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with sanitation standards.Follow all workplace safety policies including PPE requirements.Participate in facility cleaning and sanitation tasks.Team CollaborationWork collaboratively with cultivation, packaging, and extraction teams.Support daily production goals and schedules.Assist with other operational tasks as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Previous cannabis, agriculture, manufacturing, or production experience preferred.Ability to follow detailed procedures and regulatory requirements.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.Must meet state eligibility requirements to work in a cannabis facility.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry up to 30-50 pounds.Repetitive hand movements including trimming and packaging.Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including humidity and temperature changes.Work EnvironmentRegulated cannabis cultivation and production facility.Exposure to strong cannabis odors.Work may include cultivation rooms, drying areas, and production spaces.Compliance RequirementsMust comply with all state cannabis regulatory requirements.Must pass required background checks for cannabis employment licensing if applicable.Must follow all company security and confidentiality policies.
