Responsibilities

The Child Care Services Branch of the YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate part-time Child Care Team Leader to join our team, who will be responsible for the monitoring of site directors in their group and will work with the Program Director to supervise/problem-solve issues for their team.

  • Connect: Build positive, open relationships and maintain consistent, effective communication with branch management, staff, students, and parents.
  • Serve: Assist site directors in maintaining up-to-date student files, preparing for CCDF inspections, and enforcing all Child Care Program rules and policies.
  • Lead: Maintain positive communication and work cooperatively with Child Care staff, promote programs, and ensure implementation of YMCA School Age Curriculum.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age; prefer an Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field. Equivalent experience working with school-aged children also accepted.
  • Experience in supervision preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid IN driver’s license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary: Part Time $15.75-$16.25 hourly

Hours Available: Monday- Friday 6:30am-8:30am /3:00pm-6:00pm

Location: Glenwood Park Elementary, Brentwood Elementary, Whitney Young Elementary, and Washington Center
