Job Description

IT Field Service Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced IT Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving to various restaurant locations to repair and replace IT equipment. Your primary focus will be on servicing existing equipment, responding to scheduled and emergency service calls. Additionally, you will assist in new projects.The ideal candidate should have excellent technical skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently.

 

Work Hours: Full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Must be flexible to work weekends and be on-call for night shifts.

Essential Functions:

  • Respond to scheduled and emergency service calls by traveling between restaurant locations.
  • Perform repairs and replacements on a variety of IT equipment, including Point of Sale systems, credit card devices, routers, cameras, computers, drive-thru equipment, IP phones, etc.
  • Install new cables (ethernet, video wire, etc.) and terminate them properly.
  • Take responsibility for after-hour emergency calls on designated on-call days.
  • Assist in new projects at existing stores and participate in new store builds when necessary.
  • When applicable, escalate issues to IT vendors, responsible for follow-up and documenting root cause.

Additional Duties:

  • Complete weekly expense reports.
  • Maintain the work vehicle in good condition.
  • Control inventory and perform monthly audits

Qualification Standards:

  • Prior experience in restaurant IT service or a related industry is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, depending on skills and industry experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Good driving record and must pass a DMV check.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-paced team environment.
  • Physical ability to bend, twist, walk, reach, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work on concrete or tile floors for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in small spaces, including crawling under counters and in tight areas.
  • Proficient in climbing ladders and working at heights.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both electronically and verbally, with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to follow directions and work within established systems.
  • Maintains good personal hygiene.
  • High energy level and self-motivation.
  • Ability to handle high levels of stress effectively.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Adherence to safety procedures when working at heights or on roofs (up to 24 feet).
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining power tools and equipment, ranging from small to large.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, even in challenging weather conditions.
  • Punctuality is essential.
