Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Building Supervisorโ€™s primary role is the overall supervision of the YMCA building and grounds. This position is responsible for creating and monitoring a welcoming experience for all members and guests in a friendly, helpful and professional manner with an emphasis on safety and building security. ย 
ย 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.ย ย  ย Ensure building safety and cleanliness by continually monitoring and cleaning where necessary. ย Keep walkways shoveled and ice-free during winter months.ย 
2.ย ย  ย Maintain current First Aid, CPR and AED certification โ€“ YMCA provides these trainings.ย 
3.ย ย  ย Monitor YMCA Members and Guests in order to help members by answering questions, clarifying policies and giving direction. ย Ensure all Woodson YMCA policies, procedures, and Core Values are upheld at all times.
4.ย ย  ย Provide high quality member experience by using listen first skills, providing quality facility tours to all prospective members, have a working knowledge of Wellness Center equipment and a basic knowledge of DAXKO Operating system.
5.ย ย  ย Assist with towel collection, folding, and distribution.
6.ย ย  ย Clear building at close, ensuring all doors are locked and alarms armed.ย 
7.ย ย  ย Be familiar with current safety and emergency procedures and provide leadership when necessary. ย Accurately complete Incident Reports and facility reports at the end of each shift. All forms must be put in the Membership and Assistant Operations Directorโ€™s mailbox.
8.ย ย  ย Maintain a current knowledge of Woodson YMCA department programs and policies.
9.ย ย  ย Act as a representative of Membership/Assistant Operations Director and Program Directors in their absence.ย 
10.ย ย  ย Attend scheduled staff meetings. ย 
11.ย ย  ย Be prompt for all scheduled shifts.
12.ย ย  ย Complete the Building Supervisor Report during every shift.
13.ย ย  ย Be able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs.ย 
14.ย ย  ย Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the Membership & Assistant Operations Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.ย ย  ย Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid.
2.ย ย  ย Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and problem-solving.
3.ย ย  ย Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economicย 
segments of the community.
