Salary/Pay Range: $40,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary

Assistant coach for the varsity men's baseball team for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level. This position will report to the head baseball coach and the Athletic Director. This role requires knowledge of baseball training and coaching techniques as well as an understanding of, or ability to learn, the NCAA forms and compliance requirements.

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Coaching (35%)

  • Train varsity baseball team for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level.

  • Assist the head coach in developing and implementing game plans.

  • Maintain and increase knowledge of men's baseball training and coaching techniques.

  • Supervise the training, development, and placement of staff personnel.

Recruiting (35%)

  • Evaluate prospective student-athletes.

  • Develop and maintain correspondence for prospective student-athletes.

  • Schedule, coordinate and supervise official and unofficial visits of prospective student-athletes.

Academics (15%)

  • Monitor academic performance of student-athletes.

  • Counsel student-athletes.

  • Ensure compliance with all UCCS and NCAA regulations regarding academic eligibility requirements.

Scheduling (15%)

  • Assist head coach with planning and coordinating Division II schedule within NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and institutional guidelines.

  • Assist head coach with planning and coordinating team travel and lodging.
