COMMERCIAL BANKING REGIONAL MANAGER WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Ensures the achievement of growth, sound credit quality, and profitability for assigned region by effective management of resources toward short and long-term objectives of the bank. Achieves revenue growth and profitability for the region by managing the overall relationship and new business development process. Responsible for $20+ million CRISP portfolio.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Establishes individual sales goals and objectives for CBS teams and creates an environment that encourages team members to develop profitable relationships and focus their efforts on achieving highest levels of performance.
  • Ensures that relationship development plans are created, implemented, and monitored for each client or prospect. Conducts progress meetings to review results to goal and provides alternative strategies to ensure individual and team goals are met. Redirects team members’ efforts when necessary and helps them achieve their performance objectives.
  • Manages the ongoing measurement, tracking, and reporting of team sales activities and performance metrics.
  • Implements client strategies for both new and existing clients.
  • Regularly accompanies CBS Managers, Relationship Managers, and/or Business Development Officers on key client visits and assists them with closing deals.
  • Determines the appropriate "service center" for new clients where the relationship will reside for optimum service delivery.
  • Conducts an annual review of all client relationships to ensure that clients are properly assigned.
  • Monitors relationships to ensure that cross-sell activities and retention efforts are maximized and that client satisfaction is maintained.
  • Hires, terminates, develops, coaches, and motivates team members; identifies staff development needs and provides educational/training opportunities.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing ratios and manages resources to optimize client support and unit profitability.
  • Interfaces with Credit Administration and Credit Manager to ensure credit quality and compliance strategies are implemented and the process is efficient and effective.
  • Insures accurate and timely risk identification.
  • Monitors the loan and credit process. Reviews all final credit structure and recommendations before hand off to Credit Administration.
  • Works with Credit Manager, CBS Managers, and Relationship Managers to approve credit transactions that meet client needs and ensures consistency with the credit quality standards and operational compliance requirements of the Bank.
  • Responsible and accountable for appropriate quality controls related to the financial products the bank provides, the services the bank delivers, the processes employed and the incentives with which colleagues are awarded.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years of banking experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Commercial Banking environment required.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience required.

  • Thorough knowledge of commercial banking products and services for market segments. Recognized by peers and clients as a respected expert and leader within the commercial banking industry.
  • Proven ability to attract, build and develop a talented and creative team with sufficient knowledge, skills, experience, and positive work habits to drive successful delivery of the company’s commercial banking strategies.
  • Perception as a trusted advisor by both the staff and the client.
  • Strong strategic skills that will assist the staff in creating strategies for each client. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external clients and Bank colleagues to achieve results.
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial credit policies/procedures and risk management techniques.
  • Excellent skills of motivating staff and assisting in the creation and achievement of individual and team goals.
  • Willingness and ability to communicate with staff so that everyone feels informed at all times.

Starting base salary: $195,995 - $364,003 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
