Job description

We are looking for an electronic controller unit (ECU) validation engineer to assist in the testing of our delivered controllers. In this role, you will be responsible for validating component and sub-system requirements on incoming firmware and hardware ECU revisions. You will be part of a team that develops, validates, and continuously improves the robot's features and capability to production maturity. You will engage with cross-functional teams and hold yourself, teammates, and the larger organization accountable for meeting requirements. Lastly, you will also be responsible for requirements based validation for a handful of controllers on the vehicle, enabling you to deep dive into issues and help deliver our robot.

This role is in the Vehicle Development organization leading verification and validation activities for controller hardware and firmware integration testing.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute firmware and hardware integration test plans on new hardware components and firmware features.
Verify bootloader, power management, network communication, and other ECU requirements.
Troubleshooting and root causing electrical issues during component bring-up in manufacturing and fleet operation settings.
Provide feedback to Vehicle System Engineers for design-related issues and collaborate on containments/long-term solutions.
Examine log data and source code to identify and debug issues at the system level.
Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, system architecture, firmware development, and firmware validation teams to understand new component level hardware/software changes being developed and identifying test plans to validate the changes.
Conduct initial system bring-up and perform integration tests at the vehicle level to validate design assumptions.
Develop early prototypes and test benches to de-risk new technologies.

Qualifications
BS or higher in electrical/electronics/systems/mechanical engineering or related field.
3-5 years of experience in controller validation, controller integration, or related field.
Experience debugging complex electrical, electronic, and software-controlled systems.
Experience diagnosing CAN, CANFD, LIN or Ethernet network issues.
Experience in MATLAB, Linux, Python, C++ or equivalent tools for modeling and analysis.
Able to communicate complex technical issues in simple, definitive and accurate terms.

Bonus Qualifications
    Experience with Vector tools.
Experience in failure analysis, fault trees or hazard and risk analysis.
Experience automating controller verification steps with Cursor or other AI tools.
Experience with end-to-end traceability tools such as Polarion or equivalent applications.
    Experience with ASPICE.

Salary Range:
    $100,000-120,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
