Architectural Engineer โ€“ Data Center & Power Infrastructure

Location: Pelzer, SC (Onsite)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens (USC) and Green Card Holders (GC) only


Position Overview

We are seeking an Architectural Engineer to support the design and development of customized AC/DC Power Modules, IT Modules, and Data Center infrastructure. The engineer will be responsible for designing architectural solutions for mission-critical facilities including Data Centers, Telecommunications Central Offices, Switching Centers, and Industrial Power Modules.

This role requires close collaboration with structural, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and controls engineering teams to ensure high-quality, code-compliant, and cost-effective designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual and detailed architectural designs for modular data centers and power infrastructure.
  • Design architectural components including wall and floor penetrations, doors, door hardware, flashing, sealing, and water mitigation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international building codes.
  • Prepare and review Schematic Design (SD), Detailed Design (DD), and Construction Documents (CD).
  • Coordinate architectural requirements with structural, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and controls engineering teams.
  • Review and approve architectural product submittals.
  • Coordinate with mechanical engineers on fire ratings, thermal transfer calculations, and thermal bridge analysis.
  • Define project scope and provide technical support throughout design and construction phases.
  • Coordinate architectural work with civil and structural designs.
  • Support quality control during manufacturing and project execution.
  • Assist with onsite module repairs and design modifications when required.
  • Travel to fabrication facilities for design validation, workmanship reviews, and engineering audits.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Work directly with customers to develop the most effective architectural solution while maintaining quality and cost objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years of Architectural Engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
  • Experience interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications.
  • Strong understanding of local, state, and national building codes.
  • Ability to interpret customer specifications and technical requirements.
  • Experience researching new construction methods and data center technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but not required.
