Position Overview

Precision Meridian Health is currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant to join our compassionate team in Hampton, Virginia. This role is instrumental in providing individualized physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, aiming to enhance patient recovery and alleviate physical challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist, focusing on specific rehabilitation goals and patient needs.
  • Engage patients in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and the utilization of modalities, adjusting care based on patient progress and feedback.
  • Monitor and document patientsโ€™ responses to treatment meticulously, reporting any concerns or modifications to the treatment plan to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Instruct patients on the correct execution of rehabilitation exercises and the appropriate use of physical therapy equipment.
  • Assist in the documentation of patient care activities and billing processes, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and the Physical Therapy team, verifying that patient concerns and treatment outcomes are clearly communicated.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to physical therapy practices.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned to support team objectives and patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, sports injuries, neurological disorders, and specialized oncology rehabilitation. Your ability to connect with patients and provide empathetic care is vital in helping them achieve their treatment objectives and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting, where hands-on patient care has been provided.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Virginia is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques is essential for patient assessments and interventions.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in oncology rehabilitation is highly desirable, contributing to our specialized care for cancer patients.
  • Certification as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) or a willingness to pursue this certification is a plus, enhancing the care provided to patients dealing with lymphatic issues.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management is beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
