Standard Job Description We are Lockheed Martin We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Project Engineer to lead and manage C130 new development and modernization efforts. You will function as part of the AMMM Project Engineering team responsible for delivering complex system development products and solutions. What You Will Be Doing As a Principal Project Engineer Manager your responsibilities will include: Be the technical leader solving new development opportunities or modernized solutions of an integrated and complex system/technical development from concept, through design, implementation, test, manufacturing/deployment and sustainment.

Ensure alignment with Engineering and Technology strategy, business development, program architect, technical feasibility. Drive planning, technical performance measures, trade studies, risk evaluations, across all Engineering Teams to meet contract cost, schedule, and technical requirements. Lead and manage engineering teams to develop and refine technical solutions.

Act as single voice and point of contact to program management and senior leadership. Provide timely and accurate insight to key program impacts or opportunities to the Program Manager. Develop innovative and scalable design approaches to maintain agility and flexibility.

Complete all Earned Value Management assigned duties to include work authorization requests, estimate at complete reviews, schedule status, variance reporting, comprehensive estimates at complete, and proposal tasks. Who You Are A collaborative, seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in aerospace project management, capable of driving complex modernization programs and delivering results on schedule and budget. Accountable for overall engineering technical, cost and schedule performance on a specific program. Provides primary Tech Ops interface with Program Management (PM) Office/Customer for all programmatic items on a specific program.Responsible for identification and closure of technical issues.Meets/Exceeds all technical commitments made to the programs.Tracks Estimated time to Complete/Earned Value Management (ETC/EVM) Metrics to monitor program performance and identify technical or Tech Ops staffing risks, while managing cost/schedule.Ensures requirements baseline in documents, tracked, maintained, and verified.Ensures establishment and tracking of key Technical Performance Measures (TPM).Provides timely and accurate projections of engineering resource requirements.Works with PM to ensure GRID is up to date. Works closely with first and second line functional leaders to identify and secure appropriate staffing, coordinates with the PM office and first line managers on proposed engineering staffing changes prior to changes.Works with PM to ensure organizational standard processes are adapted, approved and followed.Leverages proven processes, lessons learned, and best practices from other parts of business or industry.In concert with the LOB and/or Market Segment Chief Engineer, ensures program plans and technical baselines are consistent with Program Control processes and Modern Engineering Practices.EPM is also responsible for the Chief Architect (CA) roles and responsibilities when the project or market segment does not utilize CAs.Depending on size/complexity of program, EPM role may be filled from Chief Engineer or Centers of Excellence (COE) organization.This classification requires approval from sub senior leadership team (SLT) leader in employee's chain of command

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic) with 12 years of experience developing aircraft upgrades or modifications Experience in aircraft design, analysis, and/or aircraft systems or structure Experience in leading a cross functional organization as a Project Engineer or Technical Manager in the development of a new and/or modified development program Desired Skills Has C-130 Technical domain knowledge like Software, Avionics, Aircraft or Systems Demonstrated understanding of Program planning and management of complex program issues Experienced at reporting program progress to senior leadership Possess strong inter-personal skills to work with a diverse capabilities team Demonstrated proficiency in developing proposals and execution of programs Ability to author papers and presentation material Expert ability to provide team oversight of Technical Supplier and Sub-Contract Management Demonstrated communication skills, both written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases Demonstrated ability to coordinate technical planning across a broad range of stakeholders Risk and Opportunity experience Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $158700.00 - $294700.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
