The Rides Supervisor will assist in the supervision of the rides Host working throughout the amusement park. This position directly supports the Rides Manager with efficient operation of the department which provides a positive guest experience.
This position's duties include -- but are not limited to -- assisting with the management of the department, supervising, monitoring, and attending to park rides, including boarding, securing passengers, operating rides, and ensuring passengers exit safely. This position will also conduct daily audits to ensure sure the park's safety and operating policies are being properly followed.

Roles & Responsibilities:

    Supervisory Duties:

    • Supervise the daily operations of theRidesteamand any otherassigned departments

    • Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation ofAdventurelandcorevalues

    • Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assignedHost

    • Becomeknowledgeable ofperforming the essential duties of allridespositions and backfill thesepositions when needed

    • Participate inall aspects of supervision of assignedhosts, includinghiring,orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline.

    • Ensure that all requiredmealand otherbreaks are being givenin accordance withIowalaw

    • Assistwithteamscheduling and timekeeping activities

    Departmental Duties:

    • Maintains a vast knowledge of a group of rides in a designated zone of the park and be able to step in at an attraction when necessary

    • Ensuresthat attractions open and close at the proper timesestablishedby the operational needs of the day

    • Provides direct support to otherridesHostbymaking rounds throughout the park to check on their needs

    • Managesguest feedback andescalates complaints or issues to the properauthorities, when appropriate

    • Provides coverage so thatHostmay take bathroom breaks

    • Enforces Park policies, riderestrictionsand ride recommendations

    • Ensuressafe operation of the ride by always adhering to standard operating proceduresandestablishedtrainings

    • Maintains a sense of calmness and professionalismduringtense, escalated or emergency situations

    • Reports ride related issues and failuresto management promptly

    • Maintains constant vigilance to proactivelyidentifypotential hazards andinformspark leadership of any concerns

    • Promptly notifies the security team or the park operator ofHostand guest injuries or emergencies

    • All otherduties assigned by leadership

    Education& Experience:

    • There is no minimum education requirement.

    • 1+ years ofprevioussupervisory experience desired

    • 1+season of work experience in the Rides Department isrequired.Previousride operation experiencefromotherAmusement/Theme Parkemployerswill also beconsidered.

    • All RidesHostmust go through the International Ride Operator Certification(iROC)course as a part of the training. Successful course completion isrequiredfor this position. There is no costtotheHostfor the course.

    Languages:Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or otherbilingual language skills are a plus.

    Requirements:

    • Must be atleast 18 years of age tocomply withIowaChildLabor Laws

    • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

    • Ability tocomply withall uniform policies

    • Mustpossesssafety-oriented mindset and understand the importance ofcomplying withall Federal, State, and local regulationsregardingride operation

    • Mustdemonstratea willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions

    • Must be guest-focusedandalsowork well with otherHostandsupervisors

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat forlong periodsof time

    • Ability to reach above shoulders throughout the workday

    • Ability to remain onfeetfor majority of the workday

    • Ability to climb or descend stairs for some coasters, rides, and attractions

    • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objectsweighing 30pounds or more

    • Ability to seedetails of objects that are more than a few feet away

    Working Conditions:

    • Frequentinteractiona variety of motorized and chain-driven rides and attractions

    • Frequent exposure tothe variableoutside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, andotherweatherconditions

    • Frequent exposure to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels,flashing lights,vibrations,and heavily populated environments
