Job Summary
Position: Medical Assistant - On-Call in Linn County
Department: Community Health Centers of Benton and Linn Counties (CHC), a multi-clinic integrated primary care system across Benton and Linn Counties. For more information about the CHC visit:
Job type: On-call, intermittent, not to exceed 1040 hours worked in a fiscal year.

  • Medical Assistant (HCT21) $21.58 to $29.23/Hour
Work location:
  • Come join the Primary Care Clinics at the Community Health Centers of Benton and Linn Counties as an "on-call" Medical Assistant. You will help to cover vacations, sick call-ins and vacant positions. If you love variety and something new every day, then this position is for you! Clinics are located within Benton and east Linn Counties. Mileage is reimbursed per County policy.
  • Provide care and support for a dynamic team of medical providers located in Benton and Linn County. Benton county health services building is an integrated facility that provides primary care, dental, behavioral health, and public health services. The Community Health Center provides care in the rural community of Monroe. Additionally, the Lincoln and Monroe Health Centers are both full spectrum primary care clinics and school-based health centers, partnering with school districts and the CHC to provide care for both students and their families.
  • Clinic Highlights: Full spectrum Primary Care, Complex Care, MAT, Community Health Workers, Behaviorists, Nurse Care Coordinators.
  • Training schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for four to six weeks.

POSITION SUMMARY
Medical Assistants work with health care providers to deliver primary care to clients of the Community Health Center by preparing patients for physical exams, recording health information, phlebotomy, collecting specimens, performing screening tests, and performing administrative/clerical duties related to the patient care process.
MA's work in a patient centered, team-based care delivery model serving a diverse patient population. This position provides support to proactive patient care and care coordination.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:Medical Assistant - Health Care Technician 1 (HCT21)
  • Technical Training beyond high school in Medical Assisting or a directly related field that allows for a State or Federal recognized medical assistant certification; AND
  • One year of work experience in a similar field or work setting (e.g., nursing assistant, home health aides, personal care aides).
  • Must have a current State or Federally recognized medical assistant certification.
Special requirements:
  • Training and skill to be able to administer immunizations to patients of all ages or willingness to learn.
  • Hiring is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
  • This position requires driving and may require use of a personal vehicle.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
Applicants must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to receive equivalency.
