Cascadia Metals is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Admin Assistant, to work out of our Hamilton branch. This will be a 18-month contract for a maternity leave. In this role, you will be performing administrative duties. This is a position for someone who has administrative experience. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Meeting customers with enthusiasm and assisting with their inquiries.
  • Accounts Receivable- Cheque Deposits/ Credit Card Payment Processing through Moneris. Applying AR Payments into Steel Plus as well as releasing orders with payment.
  • Production Scheduling
  • Providing Statements of Accounts and helping with AR questions.
  • Accounts Payable Contact for the Branch
  • Customer Service- PO creating & processing, Creating Sales Order, providing update to customer/Sales Rep. responding to phones and e-mails enquiries, Inventory look ups.
  • Responsible for ordering office and warehouse supplies as needed.
  • Provides assistance to staff, managers and sales reps.
  • Provides standard clerical duties assigned including faxing, copying, mailing and communicating with other branches. Courier, receiving and distributing individual mail.
  • Collecting and completing expenses for office and selecting personnel.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience working in an administrative or receptionist role
  • Post-secondary education is preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytic skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an office environment
