Position Description Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) has an exciting TERM LIMITED TEMPORARY (TLT) Senior Grant Accountant opportunity for its General Ledger and Cost Accounting group. This position will provide technical expertise for the complex functions with the City's financial system, PeopleSoft. This Temporary Senior Accountant will perform complex data analysis, develop queries, balance large volume of data, recommend process improvement, and assist in the preparation of SPU's three audited financial statements.

This position will work closely with four Principal Accountants, Budget, and Rates staff, and will also assist Accountants with reconciliation and sophisticated journals. This TEMPORARY opportunity is benefitted and is expected to last through mid-August 2027. Job Responsibilities Provide grant and loan accounting leadership for department Collaborate with project managers, finance, A/R, law and other City departments on grant/loan inquiry and reporting Formulate new reports and business processes. Qualifications Experience: Requires three (3) years' professional experience in general or governmental accounting Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related discipline - requires satisfactory completion of at least 24 semester hours or 36 quarter credit units in accounting with no substitution allowed (if no degree two (2) additional years of qualifying accounting experience is required) A combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class, will be considered. The full salary range for this position is $48.07 per hour - $55.96 per hour. Workplace Environment (*Telework Expectation): This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. City employees will have the option to work remotely two days a week
