Administrative Assistant (Accounting)

Location: Preferably local to Spruce Grove, Alberta
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day

Position Summary

Option Excavating Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant (Accounting) to support our accounting and administrative teams.


This is an entry-level position with a primary focus on Accounts Payable, while also providing general administrative, employee documentation, and office support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on accounting experience and develop a career within the construction industry.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Accounts Payable

  • Process and enter invoices, receipts, and other financial information.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation.
  • Follow up with employees, project teams, and vendors regarding missing information or discrepancies.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors regarding invoices and payments.
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
  • Assist with employee expense reports and corporate credit card transactions.
  • Assist with month-end, year-end, audits, and other accounting activities.
  • Assist with accounting software, reporting, and job costing as required.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems.
  • Assist with scanning, filing, document preparation, and data entry.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, time tracking, and employee documentation.
  • Assist with general office duties and other administrative tasks.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education or experience in accounting, finance, business, or administration is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
