Position Overview:
Job Title: Maintenance Worker (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems)
Location: Rochester, NY - Various Agency Locations
Department: Facilities / Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Facilities Manager
Employment Type: Full Time, 40 hours - Days, 7:30am-4:00pm
Starting Wage: $23.18 per hour

Your Core Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine building maintenance, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
    • Complete preventive maintenance tasks and regularly inspect facilities to identify safety or repair needs.
    • Assist with groundskeeping duties such as mowing, trimming, snow removal, and seasonal upkeep.
    • Maintain safe, clean, and organized maintenance and mechanical areas.
    • Install, assemble, move, or repair furniture, equipment, and fixtures.
    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies across agency locations.
    • Communicate effectively with program staff, supervisors, vendors, and contractors regarding maintenance work.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.

What You Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Experience in facility maintenance, building repair, or related trades preferred.
    Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems. (Must be clearly indicated on your resume to be considered)
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
    • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
    • Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
    • Valid NYS driver's license with 2 years of driving experience required.
