Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeking a Program Manager 2 to be located in Roy, UT. Relocation assistance may be provided. This position is contingent upon program award anticipated in the third quarter of 2026.
What You'll Get To Do:
The Flight Systems Futures operating unit within Strategic Deterrent Systems is seeking highly motivated talent to join a team at the forefront of next-generation hypersonic capabilities. Our team focuses on the design, development, and demonstration of hypersonic re-entry vehicles and advanced payloads, with an emphasis on rapid development and prototyping aligned to specific customer missions. We operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where innovative concepts are matured quickly into credible, testable solutions that address our nation's most demanding strategic deterrence needs.
This role will be the program manager for one of our upcoming programs. The following are Responsibilities for this role:
Directing all phases of program from inception through completion
Responsibility for the cost, schedule and technical performance of tooling programs
Acting as customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
Establishing milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
Directing the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas
Collaborating across program and functional teams and ensure on-time execution
Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks (e.g. technical, cost, schedule, legal, security) and maintaining risk register and ensuring corrective actions are tracked and closed
Strategically managing NCTA budgets (B&P and M&S) with financial rigor and predictability

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related experience; master's degree and 6 years' experience or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a U.S citizen and have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope,(<6yrs) with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period.
  • Experience in project management/ execution and closeout
  • Experienced in Earned Value Management (EV) in an applicable system

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Executive presence and comfort in communications at that level
  • Background/experience in rapid development and prototyping
  • Background/experience in ICBM programs
  • Experience with test planning and coordination
  • Experienced people leadership that includes performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
