Job description

Location: This opportunity will be based in our Norwood, MA manufacturing and production facility
Schedule: Primarily 1st Shift hours. We are a 24/7 facility so must be accessible when needed
Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $155,000.00 / yr (dependent on transferrable skills and experience) plus annual bonus up to 12.5%
OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
The Manager, Maintenance Reliability & Scheduling position is responsible for leading the maintenance organization to ensure safe, reliability, and cost-effective operation of plant equipment and facilities. This role focuses on maximizing asset reliability, minimizing unplanned downtime, improving maintenance processes, planning/scheduling, and developing a proactive, data-driven reliability culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintenance Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance supervisors, technicians, and contractors.
  • Establish performance expectations and hold team accountable for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Promote a strong safety and food safety culture. Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Asset Reliability & Performance
  • Develop and execute reliability strategies to improve equipment uptime and lifecycle performance.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and/or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on major breakdowns and chronic issues.
  • LEAN Six Sigma or related certification a plus
  • Drive implementation of Predictive, Preventive, and Condition-Based Maintenance programs.
  • Track and improve KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and maintenance cost per unit.

Planning, Scheduling & Execution
  • Ensure effective maintenance planning and scheduling processes are in place.
  • Balance reactive, preventive, and improvement work to reduce emergency repairs.
  • Partner with Production Planning and Operations to optimize downtime scheduling.
  • Own and maintain CMMS (experience with Megamation/D365 is a plus,) data integrity, reporting, and system utilization
  • Analyze maintenance data to improve planning accuracy, scheduling efficiency, and asset reliability
  • Track and drive PM completion rates, targeting 100% monthly completion

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, TPM, or similar methodologies.
  • Standardize maintenance procedures, PMs, and best practices.
  • Support development and standardization of preventive maintenance best practices
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and commissioning activities.

Budget & Asset Management
  • Develop and manage the maintenance and reliability budget spend.
  • Control maintenance costs while improving asset performance.
  • Coordinate with inventory/parts teams to ensure availability of materials for scheduled work

Collaboration & Communication
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, EHS, Food Safety, and corporate teams on maintenance initiatives and projects
  • Communicate equipment health, risks, and improvement plans to leadership.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for inspections, calibrations, and contracted services
  • Support reporting and KPI tracking to provide data-driven insights to leadership

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred)
  • 7-10+ years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • 3+ years in a maintenance or reliability leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience working in a regulated food manufacturing environment - USDA Preferred
  • Experience with CMMS/EAM systems
  • Familiarity with RCFA, FMEA, Predictive Maintenance tools, and asset management practices
  • Understanding of OSHA, safety, and regulatory requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT:
  • Able to sit / stand for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to fifteen pounds.
  • The noise level in the office environment is typically moderate.
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time and work nights & weekends.
