JOB SUMMARY

Our unclaimed property practice is a proven leader in the industry, with a full-suite of services that include annual compliance outsourcing, audit defense, exemption analysis, voluntary disclosures, risk assessments, search and location, and asset recovery. Our technology-focused solutions are designed to assist companies of all sizes and across all industries address every aspect of unclaimed property in the most effective and efficient manner possible. With our collaborative, team-based approach, we are able to apply the right blend of skills to each unique customer engagement. Whether a customer needs to complement an in-house unclaimed property team or outsource all of their unclaimed property responsibilities, we apply the appropriate level of services for each of our customer. 

This Asset Recovery Associate position involves the recovery of unclaimed funds through state and non-state sources (e.g., cities, counties, etc.) on behalf of our customers. Primary activities include conducting corporate organizational and financial research, searching for and identifying unclaimed property, collaborating with various government agencies to claim the funds, and working with customer contacts to secure the funds.

Responsibilities:

  • Support all facets of unclaimed property asset recovery, including the collection of data, search and identification of customer funds, preparation and submission of claims packets, collaboration with state or other government agencies, and communication with customer contacts to prove ownership, distribute results, etc.
  • Develop and present customer deliverables, including asset recovery workplans, and provide guidance and strategic advice to customers by describing forthcoming requests, knowledge of the process, statutory requirements, etc.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive culture, including working closely with peers and management.
  • Develop relationships with customers through effective communication to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively carry out assigned project duties, including administration of customer engagements and understanding customer's business and expectations.

Qualifications:

  • No prior unclaimed property asset recovery experience required.
  • High quality verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational project management skills.
  • Strong analytical, data entry, and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, and skillful in online web research and navigation.
  • Comfortable adapting to varied customer situations and customer needs with minimum confusion or loss of productivity.
  • Consistently produce high-quality, professional deliverables on schedule.
  • BA/BS with a concentration in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, engineering, or information systems (or similar degrees).
