Sub-Assembly Technician

Location: Rhode Island
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift
Pay: Competitive and based on experience

Join Our Production Team!

Do you enjoy working with your hands, building precision products, and taking pride in quality craftsmanship? We are seeking a detail-oriented Sub-Assembly Technician to join our production team. In this role, you'll assemble precision optical components and subassemblies used in high-quality products. If you have excellent hand-eye coordination, mechanical aptitude, and enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do

As a Sub-Assembly Technician, you will:

  • Assemble small parts and subassemblies following work orders, blueprints, and written instructions.
  • Use hand tools, screws, adhesives, clamps, and other fastening methods to build precision components.
  • Position and align parts accurately to ensure proper fit and function.
  • Perform minor fitting and finishing using hand files and scrapers.
  • Clean, polish, and inspect components throughout the assembly process.
  • Repair assembly issues identified during quality inspections.
  • Report defective parts or assembly concerns to technical leadership.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of assembly equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
  • Rotate between workstations as production needs require.
  • Support additional production activities as assigned.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous assembly or manufacturing experience preferred (1–3 months or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or assembly drawings.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with small parts.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
