Position Information:

Status: Full-time

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm (Occasional weekend availability required)

Location: Edmonton, AB



About the Role

Reporting to the Station Manager, the Shop Hand with Steelhaus Tryton Canada  is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and execution of shop related duties.



Key Accountabilities

Assembly/Disassembly/Inspection:

  • Assembly and disassembly of Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA)
  • Cleaning BHA
  • Serialization of BHA
  • Pressure Testing BHA and Testing of Other Equipment
  • Maintaining records of:
    • Components,
    • Usage, and
    • Write-offs

General Laborer

  • Performing routine housekeeping around the shop
  • Mechanical (Forklift) and manual lifting/moving of:
    • Equipment,
    • Materials, and
    • Supplies
  • Picking, sorting, and taking inventory of shop

Shipping and Receiving

  • Loading equipment/trailers for transportation
  • Operating company vehicle to perform Hot Shot trips.
  • Responsible for quality control of products coming into or leaving the facility
  • Packaging/unpacking of:
    • Materials
    • Tools

Office Duties

  • Photocopying/scanning/printing
  • Equipment tracking
  • BHA usage tracking
  • Monitoring inventory and supplies

Required Abilities, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Downhole tool experience is considered an asset
  • Physical capability to safely lift, bend and twist carrying heavy material up to 50 lbs.
  • Skilled in using basic hand, power, and air-actuated tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to make frequent, complex decisions and work well under pressure with multiple deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills with highly developed interpersonal, organization, and communication skills
