Job description

Job Title:          Assembly Millwright                                  Department: Manufacturing

Job Status:      Full Time                                                  Travel Required: None  

Revision Date:  January 7th, 2026                                   Reports To:  Plant Manager 

Direct Reports: None 

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the responsibilities of the Assembly Millwright position includes reading work orders, knowledge of and installation of compression fittings, bearing components and couplings.  All assembly processes must be assembled and documented in accordance with product specification and production schedules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

More specifically, the employee will: 

  • Assembly of conveyor pulley components including couplings, bearings and shaft fittings
  • Disassembles and inspects components for service work and reassemble according to job traveler.
  • Assist with packaging products for shipping if required
  • Assists with machine maintenance if required
  • Other duties assigned within relevant expectations of this role

QUALIFICATIONS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Read, write and speak English and good math skills. Grade 12 education preferred
  • Read and understand shop drawings
  • Red Seal Certification an asset
  • Knowledge of bearing assembly
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Confined Space training (an asset)
  • Forklift experience (Certificate an asset)
  • Overhead crane experience (Certificate an asset)

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS 

  • Minimum ELT course or equivalent experience 
  • Knowledge in general hand tools (torque wrenches, feeler gauges, dial indicator)
  • Knowledge in safe operation of power tools (grinders, drills,)
  • Experience with pillow block bearings an asset
  • Working in a production assembly environment an asset
  • Operating forklift 
  • Operating overhead cranes
  • Working with a team
  • Working alone
