Job description

Connect Staffing is hiring Packers and Palletizers for a food production facility in Pittsburgh, PA 15238. In this role, you will work on a production line packing nutrition bars, protein bars, and baked snacks into boxes or cases, then stack and wrap finished pallets for shipment. Shifts are consistent and this is a long-term placement opportunity with a stable food production employer.
Pay: $17.03/hr
Schedule: 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15238
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Work Environment: Food Production Facility
Responsibilities
  • Pack nutrition bars, protein bars, baked snacks, and similar food products into boxes, cases, or trays on a production line.
  • Stack packed boxes and cases onto pallets in an organized, safe manner.
  • Wrap completed pallets using stretch wrap or pallet wrapping equipment.
  • Inspect boxes, labels, and seals to confirm products are correct before palletizing.
  • Sort, remove, or report damaged products, open packages, or mislabeled items.
  • Keep the work area clean and follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food hygiene standards.

Minimum Requirements
  • 6+ months of experience in packaging, palletizing, food production, warehouse, assembly, manufacturing, or similar hands-on physical work.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on a production or assembly line in a food manufacturing or food packaging environment.
  • Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) or basic food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Experience packing, sorting, stacking, palletizing, wrapping, loading, unloading, labeling, inspecting, or moving products/materials in a workplace setting.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production, warehouse, manufacturing, food production, packaging, assembly line, or general labor environment.
  • Experience wrapping pallets by hand or using pallet wrapping equipment.
  • Experience inspecting or quality-checking products, labels, or packaging for defects.
  • Ability to communicate in one or more of the workplace languages (Spanish, French, Swahili, Dari) in addition to English - bilingual employees able to translate are eligible for an additional $1/hr.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, production procedures, and safety guidelines.

Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently.
