 This is NOT a Maintenance position. We're looking for candidates with Mechanical Assembly experience. Position is working on an Assembly Line.

Pay is based on experience.

Position Summary

Weiler Manufacturing is seeking skilled Heavy-Duty Mechanical Technicians to join our production team. This position is responsible for assembling, installing, and testing heavy-duty mechanical components and systems used in forestry and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble heavy-duty mechanical components and systems according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Interpret and follow mechanical schematics, technical manuals, and work instructions
  • Install gearboxes, drives, cooling systems, hydraulic components, and structural assemblies
  • Perform precision alignment and fitting of mechanical parts
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and measuring instruments safely and accurately
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
  • Troubleshoot and correct mechanical issues during assembly process
  • Conduct functional testing and make adjustments as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all safety protocols and manufacturing procedures
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Document work performed and report any defects or concerns
  • An ideal candidate has prior experience working on heavy-duty machinery and large industrial equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2–3 years of mechanical assembly or industrial maintenance experience (heavy equipment preferred)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of basic mechanical principles
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience working with heavy-duty equipment or industrial machinery
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Dependable with excellent time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial equipment assembly
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems
  • Familiarity with torque specifications and precision measurement tools
  • Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical technology
  • Forklift or overhead crane certification

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noise and heavy machinery
  • Standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive movements are required
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • May require overtime and flexible scheduling based on production demand
