Electrical Assembly Technician Job Description:
The Electrical Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling, calibrating, and testing standard products to ensure they meet quality, safety, and performance standards. This role also involves supporting packing, shipping, dispatch, and basic inventory movements to help maintain efficient day-to-day operations in production and logistics. The position requires a detail-oriented, reliable individual who is eager to develop technical skills in a manufacturing environment. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Carry out general assembly of standard products following work instructions, drawings, and established procedures.
  • Conduct basic calibration activities using approved equipment and methods to meet required standards.
  • Perform final testing of products and accurately document test results in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Promptly report any assembly, calibration, or test issues to supervisors or senior team members.
  • Assist in packing finished goods to ensure proper protection, correct labeling, and readiness for shipment.
  • Support shipping and dispatch activities by preparing orders, checking documentation, and ensuring timely dispatch.
  • Handle basic inventory movements such as stock transfers, picking, put-away, and stock handling following process requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, test, packing, and stock movement activities as needed.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production, stores, and quality teams to streamline operational flow and own the logistics process.

Skills Required:
  • Support team flexibility by cross-training as needed.

Cost and Efficiency:
  • Take corrective actions when targets are not met and waste is identified.
  • Consider fit, form, function, safety, and cost during design processes.
  • Minimize errors within the team and processes.

Lean Continuous Improvement (CI):
  • Support company continuous improvement initiatives and data capture.
  • Participate in and encourage idea generation for process enhancement.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Ability to accurately follow written work instructions, technical guidance, and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Basic numeracy, literacy, and computer skills for recording work and following documentation.
  • Prior experience with an ERP system related to inventory and dispatch processes.

Experience:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, or logistics environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, or production machinery.
  • Work experience in assembly, production, stores, or dispatch settings.
  • Familiarity with calibration or final test processes for standard products.
