Job Description:
Montage Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Ryan Ranch
Annualized Salary: $89,856
Temporary Program: 11-16 months
Under the leadership of the Director of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, the Physical Therapist-OCS Resident is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals referred to the medical group. This role involves collaborating with referring providers to assess patient needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapy to promote optimal outcomes. The Physical Therapist-OCS Resident plays a key role in maintaining clinical excellence and community engagement through active participation in outreach and partnerships with local healthcare providers.
In addition to the Physical Therapist role, the OCS Resident will be responsible for scheduling an average of 5 mentoring hours per week with their mentor and 8 hours of professional/educational activities. These include but are not limited to physician surgical/clinical/office observations, journal presentation, case rounds, scholarly presentation work, and self study.
The position requires evaluating referrals and patient records, conducting assessments, and documenting progress in accordance with clinical best practices. The therapist will administer appropriate treatments, supervise support staff including Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), and ensure timely and accurate completion of documentation and billing. Additional responsibilities include contributing to the development of the rehabilitation program, staying current with professional education, and fostering strong relationships with patients, colleagues, and external providers. The Physical Therapist is expected to uphold safety standards, maintain confidentiality, and consistently reflect the organization's values in all professional interactions.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have a zero (0) to three (3) years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic clinic and must be computer literate, with prior experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred. Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong telephone communication skills. A working knowledge of medical terminology, efficient filing systems, and standard office equipment is essential. The role requires the ability to manage shifting priorities, handle emergency situations, and meet deadlines effectively. Strong language skills are necessary to read and write simple correspondence, document treatment plans and billing codes accurately, and communicate clearly with physicians, patients, vendors, and staff. Additionally, the candidate should possess basic mathematical skills and the ability to follow straightforward written or verbal instructions while applying sound reasoning in routine clinical and administrative situations.
Education
Graduate of accredited physical therapy school.
Licenses/Certifications
CA State Board of Physical Therapy licensure or has applied for CA state licensure. Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
